Ecovalorys : Wooden Pellets supplier
Proud of its 71 years of knowledge as agriculture supplier, the “Coopérative de Blé” is extending its activities. The company started in the early 2007 to supply wooden pellets to private users and local government agencies.
Characteristics of wooden pellets:
- Energy: 4800 kWh / t on average
- Ash rate: less than 1%
- Shape: cylindrical form
- Humidity rate: less than 8 %
- Wood: mix of leafy trees and coniferous tree
- Equivalence rate with domestic liquid fuel: 1l = 2,2kg of pellets

These pellets have to be used in specific stoves and boilers:
- Stoves: look like traditional wood stoves. They start automatically; pellets are brought by a screw to the burner. A tank situated on the side or on the top of the stove allows autonomy of 8 to 12 hours. A stove can easily be used to eat one or two rooms.

Boilers: they work as stoves, a screw brought pellets from a big tank (3 to 15 m3) to the burner. Water running through the boiler is eaten and goes through radiators and domestic water track.
Using wooden pellets, these stoves and boilers produce less ash than with wood logs and maintenance frequency is reduced. |

The company is developing a new pellet made of by-products from ours members (straw, maze by-products,…). This pellet will be used as a wooden pellet in multi-fuel stoves and boilers. This product should be available during 2009.
